Overview

The southern coastal cities and regions of Iran will be the site for our adventures. We will explore the area from west to east during 16 days. Here, you will see the pure beauty of Iran’s untouched nature. We’ll have the chance to see the enchanting blue waters of Persian Gulf and experience the beach life by camping near the sea. Our experience will become more alive by interacting with the locals, trying local dishes, and visiting nomadic tribes of Iran.

Itinerary

Day 1 Arrive Abadan / Explore Venice of Iran
Day 1 Arrive Abadan / Explore Venice of Iran

We’ll take an early flight to Abadan on the 1st day. We’ll stroll in the city and explore its historical bazaar and try a popular local snack called ‘falafel’. This is one of the most famous snacks of Abadan. Then we will go to the Sarakhie Village, known as the Venice of Iran, to explore the village.

On the 2nd day, we’ll move the Ganaveh Port, which dates back to 1550 years ago. The area includes an old bazaar, castles, palm trees, and beautiful wildlife. Visitors can go boat riding here. Afterwards, we’ll join a group of Qashqai nomads and stay with them for the night. This will give us the chance to experience the adventures of nomadic life.

Bushehr

On the 3rd morning, we’ll have breakfast with nomads and take the road to Bushehr. We will walk around the old city and relax in Haj Raees café.

Jashak Salt Dome

On the 4th day we will visit the wonderful Jashak Salt Dome to explore the unspoiled beauty of the nature there. We will also stop near the Kalouts on the way, near the shore. Here, we will hike across the valleys. Siraf port, which is considered as one of the old ports of the country, will be our next stop of the day.

The city of Asalouye in Bushehr is our destination for the day. Asalouye is famous for the natural gas and oil resources and facilities installed for producing it. First, we’ll go to the Kalat Spring and then stop at Banood Seashore, one of the villages outside Asalouye, and camp there.

We will wake up to the sound of the waves hitting the shore in the morning. After preparing breakfast and enjoying it at this spectacular location, we will venture ahead along the coast. If we were lucky to gain permission, we will make a visit to three islands in the Persian Gulf. These include: Lavan, Hendurabi and Shivar islands.

On the 7th day, we will go to Qeshm Island, the biggest island of Iran, using landing crafts. Here, we will see the famous mangrove forests of the island, called Hara forests. Then we’ll go to the Loft historic village. At the beach here we will have the chance to see the sunset over the Persian Gulf. We will spend the rest of the day walking along the beach or in the village, relaxing and talking to the locals.

We will explore the astonishing nature of Qeshm Island on the 8th day. First, we will go to the Chahkooh Canyon. It has ancient wells and valleys covered with patterns, all worth the visit. Our next stop will be Namakdan Salt Cave, known as one of the world’s largest salt caves. Then we will get on boats to go to the Hengam Island. Khamasi Seashore of Hengam Island will host us for the night, as we will camp there. The night on this isolated island will become even more enchanting with the light of the phytoplankton shining along the shores.

We will return to Qeshm Island, after breakfast on the 9th day. Our first destination on the island is the Star Valley which dates back to 2 million years ago. The awe-inspiring geological phenomenon comprises Middle East’s only geopark, which is also registered as a UNESCO Natural Heritage Site. We will trace the mysterious sound of the valley by walking in it. Then we’ll go back to Qeshm to tour the city. On the way, we’ll also see the Naz Islands where we will get the chance to ride camels. We’ll spend the night at a hotel.

Hormuz Island

We will set out to Hormuz Island with a ferry, early in the morning. The island has been nicknamed as the Rainbow Island because of the different colors that are iconic to it. These include: yellow, white, orange, red, beige, green, gold, light turquoise, and brown. The spectacular views of the island become even more charming at the sunset. The soil of the island is used by the locals to make a kind of spice. This is only one of the reasons why trying the local food is a must.

On the 11th day, we’ll go on a walking tour of the Hormuz village. Then, we’ll go to Bandar Abbas Port to be there for lunch. Here we can find Iran’s largest fish market and take a walk through it too. Afterwards, we will go to the Jasak Port.

Darak Beach

More adventure awaits us on the 12th day, when we make our way to the east of Iran. Here we will find ourselves in the company of the kind and friendly Baluchi people. In the Darak Beach, we’ll come across a spectacular scenery of the desert’s sandhills meeting the Oman sea. It is also in this region that the Oman Sea reaches Indian Ocean. Then we’ll go to the Gel-Afshan Mountain, the mysterious volcano that throws out mud instead of fire. We will camp at the Tang beach at night and enjoy the wonderful nature.

The interesting experiences of the previous day continue as we visit Konarak fishing port. Here we’ll meet fishermen and see anchored ships. Besides this, we’ll explore the Tanakora market. The rocky coasts of Darya Bozorg (meaning the big sea) in Chabahar make our next stop. Here the waves of the sea reach a height of 15 meters and hit the cliffs. We’ll spend the night at a hotel.

The Beris beach in Iran will be the first destination for the day 14. In addition to exploring the area, we’ll sit on the cliffs and watch the ships moving in the sea and enjoy the sunset. The other destinations on our itinerary are the Lipar lake which has a pink color and the Martian mountains.

Pasabandar and Goatr Gulf
Pasabandar and Goatr Gulf

Pasabandar and Goatr Gulf will be our destinations after leaving Beris. This is the last city on the coastline of Iran. Sights of the daily lives of the locals, such as returning fishermen, will be the charming aspect of our trip. We will also get on a boat to go to the Oman Sea and return to Chabahar after lunch.
