Overview

The amazing nature of Iran has always played a vital role in the life of the locals. Of course, the harmony of human’s coexistence with nature gives rise to forms of life one needs to experience. For instance, let’s look at the Bakhtiari nomad tribes of Iran. The Zagros Mountains, the second highest mountain range in Iran, functions as a setting for their migration during warm and cold seasons. The members of the tribe live in several places along the mountain, in Khuzestan, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, and Isfahan provinces. Also, the mountains are an ideal resort during the warmer seasons, when you can see the nomads’ tents scattered near mountain roads. One specific place is the Bazoft river passing through the mountains which usually hosts nomad families. The river is located between Gazestan Village and Zard Lime Waterfall in Zagros mountains. The good news is that you can hike in this beautiful area, with our 3-day tour. You will also get the chance to meet nomad families. At the end of our hike, we will get to one of the beautiful waterfalls of Iran.

In the evening, when we wrap the day’s hiking, another family will be expecting us. During our stay with them, we will observe their daily routines, and see how they gather wood, prepare fire for baking bread, and milk the sheep. We may spend the night with them, in their unique tents.

In order to get to the waterfall, we will have to cross Bazoft river one more time. But this time we will use a zip line built by the nomads local to this area. Afterwards, we will have time to spend in the nature, take pictures, enjoy the waterfall or hang out with the nomads who live there. After dinner, we will sleep in ....

Day 3
Day 3

We will start the last day of our tour by hiking back to Gazestan village. En route to the village, we will have lunch with the nomads again. Afterwards, we will see the Dezpart steps which were built around 6000 years ago in the cliffs. Then we will cross the river using a big rock that functions as a natural bridge over the river. The locals believe that after an earthquake God placed the rock in here for the people to go across the river easily. So, they call it Khoda Afarin, which means created by God. Nomads use both Dezpart steps and the rock during their seasonal migration. We will head back to Gazestan village in the evening and go back to Isfahan at night.
